DNS Validation

Find configuration issues in your DNS records.

Live lookup

DNS validation checks a domain's published records against common configuration rules and reports what looks wrong — nameservers that disagree, a missing address record, or mail records pointing nowhere. It reports symptoms to investigate rather than a guaranteed diagnosis.

How DNS Validation works

What it does

Find configuration issues in your DNS records.

What you get

Record checks and configuration warnings to investigate.

Live data sources

The target is sent to a network provider. Results include their source; timeouts and unavailable data are clearly marked.

What if a check cannot finish?

Confirm your input and try again. A timeout, blocked request, or unavailable provider is not proof that a domain is broken. Internet measurements and third-party services have limits.

DNS Validation — frequently asked questions

Does a warning mean my site is down?

No. A warning flags a configuration pattern that often causes problems. Your site may still resolve normally. Check the specific record named in the warning before changing anything.

Which records does it check?

The common delegation and mail records — nameservers, address records, and the mail-related records — together, because a real problem is usually a disagreement between them rather than one bad record.

It reports no issues but my domain still fails. Why?

DNS validation only sees published DNS. Hosting, TLS certificates, firewalls and application errors all sit outside DNS and need separate checks.
