Website Server Software
Inspect the server signals a website exposes.
Websites may advertise their software in the Server and X-Powered-By headers. This shows what a site discloses. Many servers remove or falsify these headers, and none of them reliably reveal the operating system underneath.

How Website Server Software works
What it does
Inspect the server signals a website exposes.
What you get
Exposed server headers; hidden operating systems cannot be identified reliably.
Live data sources
The target is sent to a network provider. Results include their source; timeouts and unavailable data are clearly marked.
What if a check cannot finish?
Confirm your input and try again. A timeout, blocked request, or unavailable provider is not proof that a domain is broken. Internet measurements and third-party services have limits.
Website Server Software — frequently asked questions
Can you detect the operating system?
Not reliably, and this tool does not claim to. A Server header names the web server software at most; the OS underneath is not disclosed, and guessing it produces wrong answers.
No server header was returned. Why?
It was deliberately removed, or a CDN or proxy replaced it. Suppressing it is a common and sensible hardening step.
Should I hide my own server header?
It is mild obscurity — it will not stop a determined scanner, but it removes a free hint. Keeping software patched matters far more than hiding the version.
