Binary to Text

Decode binary bytes into UTF-8 text.

Runs locally

Binary-to-text conversion reads groups of eight bits as bytes and decodes those bytes as UTF-8 characters, so 01001000 becomes H. The conversion happens in your browser.

What if a check cannot finish?

Confirm your input and try again. A timeout, blocked request, or unavailable provider is not proof that a domain is broken. Internet measurements and third-party services have limits.

Binary to Text — frequently asked questions

How should the binary be formatted?

Groups of eight digits, separated by spaces or run together. Characters other than 0 and 1 are ignored, and a length that is not a multiple of eight cannot decode cleanly.

Why did I get strange characters?

The bytes are not valid UTF-8 — either a different encoding, or the grouping is off by a bit. Check that every group is exactly eight digits.

Is binary the same as Base64?

No. Binary here is the literal bit pattern of each byte. Base64 packs three bytes into four printable characters and is far more compact.
