Email Header Analyzer

Inspect mail routing and authentication.

Runs locally

An email header analyser reads the Received lines and authentication results in a raw message header, reconstructing the route a message took and showing whether it passed SPF, DKIM and DMARC. Your header is parsed in your browser and is not uploaded.

How Email Header Analyzer works

What it does

Inspect mail routing and authentication.

What you get

Parsed routing hops and published authentication headers.

On your device

Your input is processed in this browser. Copy or download the result when you are ready.

What if a check cannot finish?

Confirm your input and try again. A timeout, blocked request, or unavailable provider is not proof that a domain is broken. Internet measurements and third-party services have limits.

Email Header Analyzer — frequently asked questions

Where do I get the raw header?

In Gmail, open the message and choose Show original. In Outlook, use File then Properties. Most clients have a view-source or message-details option.

Why are Received lines read from bottom to top?

Each server prepends its own line, so the oldest hop — closest to the original sender — sits at the bottom and the most recent is at the top.

Can email headers be faked?

Everything below the first server you trust can be forged. That is precisely why the SPF, DKIM and DMARC results matter more than the addresses written in the header.
