IPv4 to IPv6
Create an IPv4-mapped IPv6 representation.
An IPv4-mapped IPv6 address embeds a 32-bit IPv4 address inside the IPv6 format using the ::ffff: prefix, so 192.168.1.1 becomes ::ffff:192.168.1.1. It lets IPv6-only software represent IPv4 endpoints; it does not give an IPv4 host IPv6 connectivity.

What if a check cannot finish?
Confirm your input and try again. A timeout, blocked request, or unavailable provider is not proof that a domain is broken. Internet measurements and third-party services have limits.
IPv4 to IPv6 — frequently asked questions
Does this make my server reachable over IPv6?
No. It is a notation for representing an IPv4 address in IPv6 form. Real IPv6 reachability needs an actual IPv6 address and an AAAA record.
What does the ::ffff: prefix mean?
It is the reserved prefix marking the remaining 32 bits as an IPv4 address, so software can distinguish a mapped address from a native IPv6 one.
Where do mapped addresses turn up?
In dual-stack sockets. A server listening on IPv6 often records IPv4 clients as ::ffff:203.0.113.5 in its logs.
